A hybrid system warning light, the petrol engine running much more than it used to, fuel economy dropping off, the battery gauge swinging quickly between full and empty, or less pull when you accelerate. Hybrid batteries age like any other battery, and these are the usual signs.

Hybrid batteries run at high voltage, so this is not a job to try at home.
